Here's my Beauty...

This gorgeous, gentle and super affectionate fluff –ball is my dog, Lola. She’s what you call a Parti-colored Standard Poodle. She’s a beauty and a rarity. I wanted to post about her because just recently she’s become a Mommy!

Awhile back we became the proud foster parents of this beautiful breeding dog. We were selected by this excellent breeder: Lou Lou Poodle, situated here in Quebec. What makes this breeder exceptional is the care she gives to her animals. She is the only breeder for Parti-colored Poodles here in Quebec, and she also has a fostering program. The way it works is that rather than keeping all of her breeding dogs in cages with no quality of life- this breeder, Lucy (yes, that’s her name too:) occasionally seeks out potential families that can give these dogs a real family life.

The notion is that a happy and well kept dog that is used to being around children and is frequently walked and has ample room for romping and playing, will in turn be a well-socialized and wonderful dog. Consequently, this should also set the stage for producing well-adjusted pups. So, when I showed interest in this program, Lola, then a 9-month old pup was matched to our family. She officially became our dog, with the agreement of having her bred by the breeder when…nature called. Once Lola turns 4 years-old, the Breeder will have her operated and she will be officially off duty. This is what I call controlled and responsible breeding.

So, this March, Lola gave birth to 6 cute pups. She stayed at her ‘godmother’s’ house (the breeder) for what we call her ‘maternity leave’.

Her babies are weaned and she’s so glad to be home with us, her family again; where she can now go back to her role of being the cherished ‘baby’ of our household.

Take a look at her pups!

Oh my goodness, Lola is absolutely beautiful and her puppies are adorable! My Buddy is part poodle and he looked a lot like those little guys when he was a baby. Furkids are one of the biggest joys in life!

Oh those puppies are so sweet!!! Of course, Lola is beautiful too but there is something so precious about a puppy....
Thanks for making me smile today.
By the way, you won a random act of kindness from me. I posted it at the end of a very long and boring post about fashion dolls. I don't think anyone read it....

Adorable! I'd like all of them please. Due to too much time away, we don't have any pets but I certainly do miss them. Thank you for letting me visit yours!
Happy Monday!

This Lola loves your Lola!
Today is May 5th, Napoleone's death. There is a lovely poem by Alessandor Manzoni called Il Cinque Maggio that celebrates the human vicissitudes of the historic figure. Here you can find a translation of the piece: http://digilander.libero.it/opere_di_manzoni/translate_english/manzoni_the_fifth_of_may.html
ciao and again thanks for the lovely award!

Wow I've never heard of a program like this before! I bet it was hard to let her go during her maternity leave though.

Lola is quite a stunner, Lucy!! WOW!! I've never actually seen a Parti-coloured Standard Poodle before. Her puppies are just the cutest thing!! Super adorable!! Lola's breeder sounds wonderful and very responsible and that's the kind of person that I would want my dog to come from as well. I do know who was the breeder of my Goldendoodle but I'm not sure what her practice is. All I know is that I am truly blessed to have an absolutely precious and loving companion in my Scully girl. Dogs are the most amazing creatures in the world because they are a daily testament to the meaning of unconditional love. I don't think I could ever be without one.
